Usually, couples are concerned with property issues.  Once in a while, a premarital agreement will include a provision limiting child support.<br /><br />But premarital agreements cannot be used to establish the amount of child support on divorce or waive child support.  In fact, the Uniform Premarital Agreement Act specifically says: "The right of a child to support may not be adversely affected by a premarital agreement." Maybe parents ought to butt out sometimes.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.sbj.net/article.asp?aID=08087668.3197743.1040000.2449428.2823647.168&aID2=79991" rel="nofollow">Bruce Williams</a> of the Springfield Business Journal explained that keeping your finances separate might cost you money if you file your taxes separately rather than jointly. <br /><br />Premarital agreements can be deadly.  Rhode Island's David Swain is <a href="http://www.projo.com/news/content/swain_update_01-12-08_S58JAEN_v8.25138c0.html" rel="nofollow">going on trial</a> for the murder of his wife.  The alleged motive?  He was having an affair with another woman, but his premarital agreement stated he would receive none of his wife's fortune should the two divorce.]]></content:encoded></item></channel>
